Laura Ellis first Epping girl colt to win Jack Petchey award

EPPING Cricket Club has awarded its latest Jack Petchey young achiever award to its leading girl star.
Laura Ellis, 15, has been playing in the colts section at the Lower Bury Lane club since she was eight.
During the 2009 season she peformed so well for the club she was asked to represent the West Essex District Board in its first ever under 15s girl side.
She performed well with both bat and ball, taking 5 wickets and scoring 25 runs in a game against Central Essex board.
Laura, of North Weald plays most of her games at Epping alongside boys and has become a skilful and reliable member of the team.
Epping CC colts manager Kevin Preston said: "Laura is one of our most dedicated colts members and fully deserved her call up to the West Essex team."
Epping CC is a member of the Jack Petchey award scheme which rewards young members for their skills and dedication to many organisations, including sports clubs.
