Congratulations to the Saturday 1st XI, 2nd XI and 3rd XI for winning their games this weekend. Not often we get a full house of victories on a Saturday but hopefully there will be more to come this season.
The 1st XI beat Pegasus & Corringham CC 1st XI by 5 runs in a very close game. Marc Meyer-Webb (42) and Matthew Barrett (35) setting the total for Epping with the pick of the bowlers being Baqar Ali (5-43).
The 2nd XI beat Pegasus & Corringham CC 2nd XI by 3 wickets thanks to a powerful batting display with Charlie Barton (53) and Gokul Balasubramanian (74) laying the foundations of the innings to allow Ben Marks (51n.o.) and Tapan Patel (34) to take the team to victory.
The 3rd XI easily beat a youthful Brentwood CC 5th XI by 10 wickets thanks to some great bowling from Mohammed Zubair, Jon Everett and Paul Gill with Dave Knight knocking the runs off without any trouble.
I am sure the Sunday XI had a very enjoyable game at Enfield on Sunday, although unfortunately I am not aware of the results.
