Leigh-on-Sea v Epping Cricket Club Saturday 1st on Sat 28 May 2005 at 1.30
Epping Cricket Club Won 120 runs

Match report Epping 217 beat Leigh-on-Sea by 120 runs
Epping stormed to their first victory of the season with a dominant display at the Southend seaside.
The maximum 20-point win was earnt with a brilliant all-round show with the division 2 new boys outplaying hosts Leigh-on-Sea from first ball till last.
The foundation of the success was a solid team effort with the bat on a good cricket wicket which had something in it for both batsman and bowler.
Opener Dan Sly set the pace with a brisk 20 and Simon Oliver followed up with a solid 15 but the runs did not start to really flow until skipper Geoff Maynard joined Dave Westall at the crease.
Westall started dispatching the bowling to all parts and was quickly caught up by Maynard.
The pair added 61 for the fourth wicket with Maynard smiting a quick 41.
When he went chasing a wide one Westall continued the assault, registering his first 1st XI League 50 in fine style.
He got good support from big-hitting Dan Sibley (20) and Pat Haslam (21 from 5 balls) as Epping registered maximum batting points by passing 200.
Westall almost carried his bat but was 9th man out for a brilliant 74.
Epping finished on 217 with Brian Pettitt (4 for 48) the only Leigh bowler to have a good day.
The Leigh batsmen were then strangled by Epping opening bowlers Jon Everett and Simon Moore.
Everett was miserly, bowling a brilliant line and length and taking the early wicket of Steve Elliott, bowled for 0.
Moore - playing his first game back at Epping after leaving for premier league cricket in his late teens - then got into wicket-taking action.
He trapped Dean Waller LBW for 8 and then bowled opener Stuart Birch for a patient 19.
With Leigh losing wickets and failing to score enough runs to keep up with the rate, Epping sensed victory.
Everett trapped Mick Sexton LBW for 25 and then Moore had Leigh skpper Neil Goodman caught behind for a duck.
Leigh were rocking on 72 for 5 and it was not long before it was all over. Seamer Pat Haslam picked up a wicket and spinner Dan Sibley also got in on the act.
It was Everett with a brilliant spell of 19.3 ovs-8-26-4 who fittingly took the last wicket with 16 overs to spare. His opening partner Moore (4 for 47) was unplayable and times and showed his true pedigree.
