Match report Leigh-on-Sea 184-6 Epping 27-1 (Friendly)

A torrential downpour prevented a result in a good competitive fixture between Epping and Leigh-on-Sea.
The seaside visitors posted a competitive total of 184 for 6 off 43 overs with Mick Sexton (71no) the pick of the pack.
Colleagues Dean Waller (45) and Neil Goodman (43) added the rest of the runs to set a decent score.
Epping's bowlers toiled hard all day but Tim Adams took the plaudits with 3 for 30 and Jon Everett claimed 1 for 16 off 7 tight early overs.
Si Lycett chipped in with 1 for 20 and youngster Matt Everett signed off in his last game for the club with a brilliant run out.
With the dark clouds rolling in, Leigh-on-Sea declared in the hope that a result could be forced.
Epping lost opener Dan Sly for 2 chasing a wide one but Ben Holmes (8no) and Geoff Maynard (11no) steadied the ship before the rain forced an early end.
