Epping Cricket Club Lost 134 runs

Match report Essex League Div 3
Buckhurst Hill 229 beat Epping 95-9 by 134 runs

AN UNDER-STRENGTH Epping side succumbed in spectacular fashion to local rivals Buckhurst Hill at Lower Bury Lane.
The visitors took all the plaudits thanks to solid performances with bat and ball.
Young gun J Slisz set the standard for his elders with a cool calm and composed 82 not out after opener Mo Mulla had made a quick-fire 58.
Epping had started well to contain Hill to 140 for 6 but Slisz's steady play and lower order hitting from Pathan (17) and Sueman (17) took the visitors' total above the 200-mark.
Tim Adams had bowled well to take 2 for 56 but was completely luckless, going past the outside edge on countless occasions.
And with the visitors on the ropes Epping allowed Hill to escape to a good score on a slow but improving Epping track.
Birthday boy spinner Dan Sibley had chipped in with 2 for 25 and Si Oliver took 2 for 26 as the late hitting brought an end to the innings in the final over of the permitted 52.
Epping needed to score quickly in around 40 overs to win and got the worst possible of starts.
Opener Ben Holmes was adjudged LBW first ball off one of Ali's big swingers and then Marc Webb was bowled by a brilliant yorker from Mughal for 7.
Number 3 and 4 combo Dan Sly and Epping skipper Geoff Maynard then began to mount a mini-recovery and were looking relatively at ease until fate once again kicked the home side where it hurts.
Sly was hit on the point of the elbow by a steepling delivery from Ali and unable to move his arm was forced to retire hurt on 12 and spent the rest of the evening in Harlow's casualty department.
After a 10-minute delay, Maynard was bowled in the next over for 7 off a corker from Mughal and besides a valiant 33 from Sibley, including two mighty sixes, Epping were dead and buried.
Young guns Dan Twitchett and Terry Preston succumbed for ducks and only a 9th wicket parnership between Si Oliver (10) and Tim Adams (14 not out) delayed the inevitable Hill win.
Their star man was undoubtedly Mughal who bowled with great skill and variation to take an almost unplayable 5 for 18.
