Epping 135 lost to Stanford-le-Hope 139-1

EPPING turned in another horror performance as they were thumped by table-toppers Stanford-le-Hope.
The visitors were missing six regular first teamers but that was no excuse for the shoddy display which saw them collapse from 88 for 1 to 135 all out.
Marc Webb was the lynchpin of the Epping innings, rattling up 47 before he was bowled going for a big shot with the tail end for company.
The only other Epping batsmen to contribute were young gun Dan Twitchett with a solid 22,opening the innings for the first time and captain Geoff Maynard (25).
Epping's middle and lower order subsided all too easily to the less than threatening spin of Ross Poulton (4 for 49) and Bill Poskitt (4 for 21).
Stanford's task in winning was a relatively easy one on a good batting track.
Tim Adams trapped opener Phil Gray LBW for 5 but that was to be the only success as Russell Page (79no) and Poskitt (44no) steered their side to an easy win.
Adams bowled a great spell to trouble both early on but was completely luckless as he witnessed a succession of plays and misses and edges through the slips.
