Stanford 206-9 lost to Epping 210-6 by 4 wickets

EPPING toppled table-toppers Stanford-le-hop with a professional performance at Lower Bury Lane.
The home side did well to restrict free scoring Stanford to 206-9 off their 52 overs and then knocked off the runs without any worries with an over to spare by four wickets.
Dave Bickley once again showed he is in the top rank of bowlers in the league as he sent down 20 deadly accurate overs taking 4 for 59.
He got great support from wiry seamer Shaba Masum who weighed in with 3 for 42.
Both bowled with great control on a placid track which was difficult to take wickets on.
Only Stanford's Aussie import Lance Bryant managed to break the shackles smiting a classy 60.
He got good support from young gun Ross Poulter who weighed in with 44.
The only other Stanford bat's to make a mark were openers Phil Gray (22) and Bill Poskitt (20) and Mick Lewis (26no).
Epping's reply started badly with Bangladesh star Shuhan Chowdhury getting himself caught and bowled off Poskitt's gentle spin for just 4.
Fellow opener Dan Twitchett was resolute however and batted excellently and went on to register his second league fifty at the tender age of 15.
Twitchett got good support from Epping's other young guns - 18-year-old Matt Everett who hit 34 and 15-year-old Dan Majeed 18.
The old guns in the lower middle order then saw Epping home with Dan Sibley smiting 42, Geoff Maynard seeing his side home with 12 not out and Dan Sly with 6 not out.
