EPPING clung onto a deserved draw after the rain came to their rescue at Lower Bury Lane.
Last pair Dave Bickley and Tim Adams were at the crease when the deluge began with 10 overs to go and Harold Wood champing at the bit for the win.
Epping deserved the weather fortune however after being forced to bat for an hour and a half in murky conditions against the league leaders' bowling attack.
The home side had also bowled well earlier in the day to restrict Wood to 201 for 7 off 50 overs.
Epping managed to remove Wood's dangermen Sohail, 12, and Indian import Srinivas, 31, relatively cheaply.
But an excellent knock of 70 not out from Dave Hollingsworth gave Wood a challenging total.
Adams (3 for 63) and Bickley (2 for 21) were Epping's best performers with the ball and went on to save the game later in the day.
Dan Sly struck 22 for Epping and Dean Majeed 17 but no one got the big score that was needed to chase down Wood's total.
Sharma was the pick of Wood's bowlers with 4 for 28.
