Match report On a damp wicket Epping lost the toss and surprisingly were put in to bat.
Runs were hard to come by but a stand of 52 for the first wicket proved to be the deciding factor at the end of the day.
Eddie Holden was the first to go for 30 and one run later saw the demise of Tony Sanderson for 14.
Some cultured batting from Paul Offord and Billy Holden pushed the score along and we finally totalled 168 for 8 at the end of our 52 overs.
I thought that this total may have been about 30 runs short of what we required but I was proved to be wrong as Matt Barrett and Billy Holden broke the hearts of West Essex with 4 wickets and 2 wickets respectively to give us a stranglehold on the game.
Mahesh and Eddie Holden wrapped the game up for us with some demon spin bowling that lasted for all of 3.3 overs but claimed 4 wickets in the process with Mahesh taking 3 wickets for 2 runs in 1.3 overs to steer us to victory.
