Brentwood 4th XI v Epping Cricket Club Saturday Third XI on Sat 07 Jul 2007 at 1pm
Epping Cricket Club Lost by Lots and Lots and Lots

Match report Epping got a thumping at the hands of top of the table Brentwood 4th XI. Brentwood won the toss and had no hesitation in batting first against 9 man Epping.

With only 9 men it was always going to be tough but Epping stayed alert and kept up their effort in the field. Sanger bowled tightly for his 11 overs and Ned Piller picked up a couple of wickets with his leg spin. Jaques took a great catch at deep-midwicket to dismiss the Brentwood opening bat for 130 but the damage had already been done. Brentwood declared after only 31.1 overs on a massive 263 for 4.

Eppings batting was always going to be about survival although the amount of time that was left in the game always allowed Epping to have some hope of an upset. Once Sanger and Ed Piller had departed the Epping line up fell apart with the exception of A Jaques hitting a good looking 20. Brentwood bowled very well and showed why they have been promoted to the 3rd XI leagues and also why they are miles ahead of any other team in our league.
