Old Southendians v Epping Cricket Club Saturday Third XI on Sat 14 Jul 2007 at 1pm

Match report
Epping travelled to Southend and carried on their bad form as recent weeks.
Old Southedians are normally a good match for Epping but this year it was a total mismatch. The OS boys batted first and racked up an easy 235 for 6 off 34 overs. Highlights for Epping was Ned Piller showing us what he can do when he gets it right taking 3-58 with his impressive leg-spin (all his wickets were comprehensively bowled) Mick webb also picked up 2-62 from a hostile 10.5 overs.
As has been the case alot this season the Epping reply never got going. This was down to bad and inexperienced batting from our guys as well as some excellent bowling from the OS bowlers. Sanders ripped through the top order with some quality swing bowling and picked up figures of 3-20. Epping might have thought that with the bowling change came their chance.....well not quite as Bunce took over and he finished with the most amazing figures ever know. 4 over, 3 maidens, 1 run and 5 wickets. It must be noted that his solitary run came form the lst ball of his spell that was called a no-ball!!!!! A Jaques was the star in the Epping order hitting a superb 48 and should have been rewarded with his half century. Also standing in for Epping was Ms George Wingham, yes a lady. She hit a crafty 10 not out batting at number 11 and showed the rest of the team up. Well done George and thank you for playing.
Epping must stop this free-fall and pick up some points. Having 7 ducks is just unexceptable. Bring on Benfleet next week......
