Match report Stanford le Hope 242 for 6 beat Epping 185 by 57 runs
EPPING slumped to a disappointing defeat against Stanford, falling 57 runs short of their victory goal.
At one point the home side were poised to record another win batting second on 115 for 2 but the wheels came off when Dean Majeed went for 35 and Iffy Raja a brilliant 50.
Epping's middle then foolishly gave their wickets away when sound heads and steady batting was all that was needed to aquire a win with plenty of time left.
Stanford seamer became the star of the show as he bowled a steady line and length on wicket that offered little to the bowlers. He took 7 for 94 to deservedly give the visitors the game.
Earlier, Epping's bowlers had found it difficult to bowl in very wet conditions and paceman Dean Majeed was confined to just one over.
Stanford's star with the bat was Shearer who hit a classy 95 but should have been caught on a couple of occasions.
