Match report A tight contest that Epping could easily have lost if it weren't for some stubborn batting from the lower order.
Old Brents batted first and their two inform batsmen A Rushent (40) and M Mulla (32) produced some devastating hitting, in damp conditions, to quickly take the total up to 61 for the fall of the first wicket. Inevitably the run rate slowed and through tight bowling from Inny Hasan (1 for 19) and Shahid Majeed (4 for 74) meant that Old Brents didn't clock an enormous score. K Sarwar (63) provided the glue for the rest of Brents' innings, while Dan Majeed picked up 4 wickets for 33 to be the pick of the Epping bowlers.
In response Epping's innings got off to a poor start by loosing both openers cheaply. Dean Majeed (38) crafted an innings that gave foundation to a chase, but the collapse of Epping's mid order threatened to result in a loss for the Lower Bury Lane team. Stubborn batting from Junior Khan (27), Rehan Asghar (32 no) and Inny Hasan (18 no) saved the game for Epping and produced a second draw in a row for the Home side. The biggest cheer of the day though, was left for the final ball which Hasan despatched over the mid off boundary for 6 which gave Epping an extra batting point.
