Match report A see-saw game that Epping should have won but Buckhurst Hill showed great resolve to come back and nearly pinch the match.
Tight Epping bowling at the start of the match meant that Buckhurst Hill were always behind the run rate on what was a good batting track. However the Hill batsmen showed great discipline with good innings coming from R Beckett (47), J Allen (42) and T Scott (72 no) to set a total of 212 off their 52 overs. The pick of Epping bowlers was Dave Bickley with 3 wickets for 50 off 15 overs.
In response Jason Whiting got Epping off to a flyer, scoring 77 runs in very quick time, by blasting many straight sixes. He was ably supported by Pronob Roy (37), however when both wickets fell only Dean Majeed (23) offered any further ambition with the chase. This resulted in the final two batters seeing off the last 10 overs to save the game for Epping by forcing the draw.
