Match report Eppings season started on a hot sunny day at Old Parks and we had the fortune to win the toss and elected to bat which was of no great surprise .
A steady start enabled us to reach 86 for 3 at the half way stage.
After the drinks interval Ed Holden batted his way to a fine 49 and we continued to accumalate the runs at a somewhat quicker rate with new boys Muhammad and Osman moving the score along at a rather rapid pace with Muhammad out on 76 and Osman out on 25. Simon Oliver chipped in with 11 runs but the last wickets fell with no runs being added and we finished on 215 all out which was about 40 runs short of a defendable total on the Old Parks track.
Our bowling attack got of to a great start when we had the opposition at about 45 for 3 but with no clear chances Old Parks got the runs required with the loss of only seven wickets.
A defeat in our first game,yet on the bright side we came away with eleven points which is no mean feat for coming second and this is the way forward if we don't win games we need to accumalate as many points as possible something we failed to do last year.
