THE TEAM started off the year in fine style in sub zero conditions at Hockerill in a friendly.
Star of the show was 'new' boy Freddie Butt making a guest appearance and smashing 120 before walking off with a nagging injury.
There were also handy knocks from Jason Whiting, Geoff Maynard and Dean Majeed - all in the 20s.
New boy Junior smashed a quickfire 75 to see Epping record 300 in a 40 over game.
Hockerill fought well and as the rain drizzled the wickets ebbed away, for a resounding Epping win.
