Match report Our first "timed game" of the season, away from home and losing the toss. Three unfavourable conditions and we were sent out to bat first.

At first it didn't look like a batting pitch, with plenty of bounce expected. Knowing the tough conditions we sent out our 2 mpost dependable batsman to open the innings.

As soon as the openers were in they looked set and were reading the bounce and swing nicely. Very good opening by John Sanger and Jack Archer. Unfortunately we lost John for 18 but made the platform for the upcoming batsmen to feel easy by making a decent start.

Jack stayed there and kept the score board ticking over, hitting a season best 79, with loads of cracking boundaries.

Sam wilson's quick 20 and Joe Waltons' unbeaten 14, along with John Newman's expert batting shield took us to 200.

As usual Sam Wilson started to fire his cannon from his first delivery and took 3 wickets. Captain Hasan also hit 4 wickets.

Joe Walton and Hayder Ali added some quality and tidy overs to make the opposition think twice about hitting big as Nazing dropped below the required run rate.

With just 3 wickets left they started playing for the draw and stopped playing the big shots, with a few close LBW appeals going against us.

Again good all round performances by the team, with Lee Archer and Darryl Andrews providing top fielding performances to deny the batsmen the chance to score more.
