Match report A depleted Epping clung on for a losing draw against local rivals Ongar.

Ongar won an important toss and batted on a good wicket, although Epping made early breakthroughs courtesy of Tim Adams (3-46) and Billy Holden (1-42). However, Sims shared big partnerships with Sweeting (22) and Powell (35) to score an impressive century, ending on 123 not out. Ongar probably batted on for a few overs too long, ending on 236-5, leaving Epping having to score an improbable target at a good rate without some of their regular batsmen.

Lycett (17) and Holden (12) began watchfully, but a flurry of wickets ended Epping's chances of victory. It was left to Russell Cotman (32 not out) to marshall the rest of the innings and make sure Epping crawled to 129-7 at the close of play.
