Match report Epping came up against a decent West Ham side but ultimately let themselves down with a poor batting performance.

West Ham opened up with two brisk bowlers, and Dan Sly (4) fell victim to a stunning diving catch at backward point. Epping then lost 2 key wickets in an over with Tredgett bowled for 10, and Barrett victim of a shocking lbw decision from umpire MacNamara for a 3rd ball duck. Epping were reeling on 24-3. Akbar hit a positive 24 before Epping slumped to 85-8. The only real resistance came from a good stand between William Beavers (33) and MacNamara (21 not out) who took the score to a more competitive 132.

Epping then started superbly, taking 4 wickets for 1 run to reduce West Ham to 13-4, great bowling from Beavers and Tredgett. As expected all the West Ham players played their shots (slogged) and the scoring rate was always high. The turning point came when a simple high catch chance ended with Matthews running into Barrett who had called the catch. Two pairs of safe hands combining to hand the match to West Ham. By the time this batsman, Omer (50), was out the game was up. There was still time for a stunning slip catch from Tredgett but ultimately Epping lost by 3 wickets...
