Epping Cricket Club Saturday 2nd v Old Southendians on Sat 14 Jun 2008 at 1pm
Epping Cricket Club Lost Old Southendians won by 8 wickets

Match report Epping won the toss and decided to bat, but as things turned out the toss was the only thing Epping won on the day.
The top five Epping batsman were all in self destruction mode and as a result they only made 20 runs between them and we found ourselves staring down the barrel of defeat at 22 for 5.
Simon Oliver came in and steadied the fast sinking ship as he and Billy Holden moved the score along to 80 before Oliver was caught behind for 29.
Billy Holden soon followed caught for 24 and with the help of two mighty sixes from John Sanger we managed to post a total of 115 all out.
After tea opening bowlers Holden B and Preston T bowled good line and length but to no avail with the ball missing the edge on numerous occaisions.
I think our day was summed up when Terry Preston bowled the opener Ahmed all ends up with a slower delivery but was judged to have overstepped and no-balled.
We kept at the ever impossible task with Oliver claiming two late wickets but we were never in the game and we lost by 8 wickets and ended up with no points on the board to show for our under acheiving effort.
