Match report Match Report Sunday 12th August 2018.

With the weather alternating between sun and rain, leaving the pitch cover over on till the last moment gave Epping Foresters a good chance to use the benefit of the Moisture of the pitch after winning the toss and welcoming Epping Cricket club to bat first!

Epping Cricket club made a start with 2 maidens in three overs but openers did not lose their patience and started to rotate run rate quite easily while Raz showed his first Appearance for Epping’s Sunday side as a solid Opener before getting himself out just reaching after a quick half-century.

Epping Cricket Club had the opportunity to have a guest player and get to learn how to bat with class from world’s youngest Test Centurion and formal Bangladesh’s Captain Mohammad Ashraful to bat at no3 position.

Ashraful kept his nerve cool and started slow and steady. Took his time to set and started to keep scoring sending balls to the boundaries over cover and mid off! And few mid wicket sixes were remarkable!!

Epping Cricket club scored nearly 200 in 27 overs before Ashraful got out of an unfortunate Runout while he was on 94.
Vaibhav’s 45 and Bharat’s quick 26* took Epping Cricket club to 263 after 40overs!


Foresters Started so well knowing that 263 is not going to be an easy chase!
Opener Pigram gave a solid start for foresters by playing few convincing sorts over mid wicket and square leg. He scored 47.

Epping Cricket club were putting ball in the right places from the beginning that kept foresters restricted to go for over 6 runs an over and building more pressure while run-rate were climbing mountain high constantly after each over while skipper Hasan and Golam wayes took two quick wickets!

That run chase became difficult even more while constant wicket falling! Epping’s Fielders were full dedicated and showed some extraordinary catching skills and diving fielding displayed by Nazmul kayes and Monir.

Sharif Kamal , Raz and Faisal kept the game in full control for Epping’s favour with the ball while Safi did exceptionally well behind the wicket taking an important catch!

At the end Epping Cricket club won the match by 160 runs ensuring the “Kare Plus “ Cup going to Epping’s Club house for the rest of the winter.
